Which is better, tempered glass storage container or heat-resistant glass storage container?

Glass food container are not only convenient to use in our lives, but also can store food in different categories. With the rapid development of glass products, the glass food container made of glass materials are more eye-catching. The appearance of glass food container is crystal clear, small and exquisite. Lovely, glass food container on the market are divided into tempered glass fresh-keeping boxes and heat-resistant glass fresh-keeping boxes. Everyone is familiar with tempered glass, which has a very strong pressure resistance, and heat-resistant glass has excellent heat resistance. So many consumers still have some misunderstandings about the difference between tempered glass food container and heat-resistant glass food container. Here IKOO will introduce some of the differences between tempered glass food container and heat-resistant glass food container boxes in detail:

1. Material

Tempered glass is made by tempering ordinary soda-lime glass and then cooling it quickly by strong wind. Heat-resistant glass contains highly heat-resistant boric acid and silicic acid components, and can withstand rapid temperature changes. The thermal expansion coefficient is relatively small, and it is not easily broken under rapid temperature changes.

2. Thermal shock resistance

Tempered glass crisper has limited improvement in thermal shock resistance, while heat-resistant glass crisper has good high temperature resistance and resistance to rapid cooling and rapid heat changes. It is suitable for use as a food processing container and can be directly put into microwave ovens and ovens. The tempered glass crisper is very dangerous when placed in a microwave oven or oven, and the consequences are unimaginable once it bursts.

3. Breaking method

When tempered glass breaks, it will burst and scatter. During the tempering process of tempered glass, prestress is formed inside the glass and the energy is condensed, so when it is broken or self-exploded, the condensed energy will be released, resulting in scattered fragments and an explosion sound. When the heat-resistant glass is broken, cracks are generated and do not scatter. Heat-resistant glass is not at risk of self-explosion due to nickel sulfide, because heat-resistant glass cools slowly, and there is no energy for condensation inside the glass, so it will not be scattered when broken.

4. Price

The manufacturing temperature of heat-resistant glass is higher than that of tempered glass. It contains raw material borosilicate, which can withstand rapid heat and rapid cooling, and is a glass with strong thermal shock resistance. However, the productivity is lower than that of tempered glass, and the corresponding manufacturing cost is much higher than that of tempered glass.
